Hello, Tumblr. :)
This post is as much for Youtube as it is for anyone else — so if you are viewing this on your Tumblr dashboard expecting music, you should skip over this and wait for music posts to resume (I promise, it’ll be soon).
As you will most likely know, I stopped recording and uploading videos a few weeks ago so that I have free time to work on my exams. I’ve spoken to several people about it since then, a couple of whom make videos for themselves, and the first thing that has come to light is that strictly speaking, I do have time to release videos at the moment. However, I don’t deal too well with stress (when it comes to exams, at least) and as such I’m likely to be in a pretty bad mood for most of the time between now and when I finish at the end of May — and that doesn’t make for good video. THAT is why I stopped recording; it’s not because I don’t want to, it’s because I want to make sure that if I am doing it, that I am able to put 120% of my effort into it.
Recently I have been doing a lot of ‘research’ into how to improve the quality of my videos, and by ‘research’, I mean I’ve been watching my favourite Youtubers… But I’ve been paying attention to what I like about them. An immediate example of this is Zisteau (go check him out!) — I have enjoyed his videos for a while, but only recently had I stopped to think about why I liked them. It came to me that I enjoyed how meticulously planned and well thought-out every episode was, and that is something that I aspire to achieve when I resume production again. More time thinking about what the episode is about, and more time editing — I don’t want to release an episode that leaves the viewer thinking “Well… What happened in that episode?” after half an hour. When I start recording again, I’m going to plan out what is going to happen in every episode ex ante, to ensure that the overall quality of the series is improved.
Another thing I’ve been paying particular attention to is the frequency, and length, of videos released. I did this by thinking about how regularly my favourite channels uploaded content, and whether I felt that an episode was too lengthy or too short — and I think that I’m going to try and release an episode of Minecraft every other day, or once every 3 days at the very latest. In between these episodes, I’ll be trying to run other Let’s Plays such as (and you can probably see this as being as close to a ‘coming soon’ list as I’m ever going to give) Terraria, Saint’s Row 3, Skyrim and a couple of Minecraft adventure maps I’ve been meaning to try out. :)
…I actually took a quick break after the last paragraph, and coming back to this blog post I have lost my flow, somewhat. Though I am happy with the videos that I have released thus far, I have been thinking almost constantly about ways to improve the main series and the spin-offs. This evening I’ve been working on a custom texture-pack for my world, cobbled together from various other packs around the internet. I still have a few more textures that I want to shuffle about, but it’s looking really nice and I like the fact that it will be unique to my videos. The next step for me is to transfer these textures to the Better Than Wolves items (HINT HINT, MY NEW SERIES WILL NOT QUITE BE VANILLA) and the Mo’ Creatures animals (HINT HINT AGAIN), and then all I have to do is make some kind of awesome player skin for myself and I’m good to go and ready for when I finish exams — as I have just blatantly made apparent, I will be doing a Let’s Play with the Better Than Wolves and Mo’ Creatures mods installed (I really enjoy playing with them on, and I think that it’d be better than simply watching yet another Minecraft Let’s Play). Throughout the series I’m looking to keep things fresh, exciting, and as unique as I can possibly get them… So I hope you’re looking forward to seeing them, because I’m really looking forward to making them.
A thousand thank yous to all my subscribers/followers/friends for your support thus far — it is a big part of why I make videos and I’m really exciting about outputting some high quality content in the months to come. A special thank you to my wonderful girlfriend who keeps me focussed, regardless of how emo I get about exams and videos. You mean the world to me. <3
Thanks again guys, and I hope to be spamming your Youtube subs with new videos again very soon. Also, if anyone is a pixel artist, please get in touch. ;)

Sage Francis - Escape Artist
Hello, Tumblr — I have been away for a long while but I’ve sorted my shit out and I’m back. I’ve been busy making Youtube videos (head here to check them out), and started to miss music blogging… SO I’m going to run the two projects side by side. Simples! I resisted the urge to remove all that I’ve posted so far by simply removing the commentaries (I really didn’t like them, give me a break) — so everything that I have posted so far already exists, it just doesn’t have commentary. I’m hoping to get a new tune posted every day, but I won’t promise as everyone knows I’m terrible at keeping them. <3

I can’t say I blame you; but I wish that I could… I’m sick of writing every song about you~
